Roadworks which have shut the busy Torbay Ring Road between Paignton and Brixham for three months will finish this week, according to developers working on a massive scheme alongside the newly-laid road. The ring road between Windy Corner and White Rock has been closed since just after Christmas.
A Persimmon spokesman said: “The Brixham Road widening and roundabout works are still on programme, and Brixham Road is due to re-open on Friday. Meetings have already been arranged with Torbay Highways to ensure adequate time for checking for minor faults and final inspections are factored in this week.”
Torbay Council says that when the road is ready to open on Friday, the lights at Windy Corner will be reinstated and the lane closure will be lifted, as will the lane closure on Brixham Road by the Goodrington Road junction. The temporary traffic lights at the junction with Goodrington Road and Dartmouth Road will also be removed.
